Starting from 2010 and with increasing reflections on urbanism, I have started to work closely with local farmer’s communities and devoted myself to developing community art projects. Clay is tactile material that conveys sensations and tangibility. In most of these projects, we dig out local clay to make pots and ceramics figures, and interview peoples, with a hope to carry stories of the land and people from the communities. In those projects I developed with YMCARTS from year 2010-2017, I tried to use clay as an expressive media, which could connect people’s memories & stories, and to bridge up peoples from different backgrounds.
